Works with Apple Home, Alexa, and Google

Matter’s job is one bulb, three major assistants — if the SKU is Matter-certified and you have a Matter controller.

• Apple Home: Pair in the Home app (see our hub guide for border routers). Thread bulbs (Nanoleaf Matter over Thread) also need a Thread border router. Hue reaches Home/Matter through the Hue Bridge.
• Amazon Alexa: Matter-compatible Echo / eero controllers; Hue may also use its Alexa skill alongside Bridge Matter.
• Google Home: Nest Hub / Nest Wifi Thread border routers for Thread; Wi-Fi Matter bulbs (Tapo, WiZ, Matter Govee) pair via Google Home with a compatible controller.

Buy tip: require the Matter logo on the package or a listing that explicitly says Matter Compatible. “Works with Alexa and Google” alone is not Matter — that is why we dropped the KL125 and will not link non-Matter Govee ASINs.

Best Matter-over-Thread: Nanoleaf A19 (Thread)

Buy the Matter over Thread 3-pack at Nanoleaf’s store; pick the “Matter Thread” option, since the Wi-Fi version is a different bulb. Nanoleaf says the Thread model needs a Matter controller and a Thread border router, and works with Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, and SmartThings. Nanoleaf lists about 900 lumens on average and 2700–6500K tunable white. Amazon had no Thread version in stock as of Oct 18. Strong mixed Apple / Alexa / Google pick.
